- The City of Kirkland hired Barker Landscape Architects to develop the master plan, park program and design. construction documents and construction observation for Heritage Park, one of the largest tracts of community open space in the city. This 10 acre park, located near downtown, includes a centennial garden, historic landmarks, interpretive displays, trails, a view point, large open lawn, picnic areas, natural play areas, and tennis courts. It is being used as envisioned, providing the public with a relaxed and spacious community park. Low impact development improvements included a green wall, an eco-lawn, as well as standard/boat parking with permeable pavers.
