- » LUTHER BURBANK PARK SHORELINE RESTORATION, MERCER ISLAND, WA
- The Mercer Island Shoreline Restoration Projects involve enhancing the shoreline at Luther Burbank Park and Mercer Island Sewer Pump Station #4 on Mercer Island. Both projects include adding woody debris along the shoreline and minor grading and construction of an upper shoreline gravel trail. Installation of rock steps will provide limited water access for park users. Plant material, including native trees, shrubs and groundcover will be installed along the shoreline and upland areas. The purpose of these projects is to provide an aesthetically pleasing semi-natural shoreline area that will provide improved public enjoyment of the shoreline, improved ecosystem functions and provide enhanced salmonid habitat functions for endangered species in Lake Washington.
