- Barker Landscape Architects teamed with Environmental Works for the design of this senior housing development. The design includes a west facing gateway which guides residents through a lush garden to the building entry, living and community spaces. To encourage seniors’ interaction with their natural surroundings, the Pearl’s outdoor gardens include planters available for resident use – allowing seniors to grow vegetables that enhance their health and vitality. A central green encourages physical exercise through the incorporation of a safe walking loop, while small plazas and ample seating provide opportunity for relaxation and comfort.
